Hammerli Model 100 Free Pistol

Could you please advise the value of a Hammerli Model 100 free pistol, serial #2096, with 5 olympic rings on it and "1948 1952 London Helsinki" also on it? Thank you.

  You don't see these around very often and it can be difficult to place a value on firearms of this type. The Model 100 is basically an up dated version of the older Model 33 and was introduced in around 1947. Swiss shooter Rudolf Schyder used a Model 100 in the London Oypmic Games of 1948 to win a silver medal. These pistols are still outstanding shooters and although out classed by the new carbon fiber elctroinc "wonder pistols", you could still enjoy a day of match shooting with the Hammerli Model 100 and not embarass yourself on the firing line. The condition of the pistol itself is very important; if the gun were new in the box I'd say it is worth about $1,000 to $1,200. A typcial Model 100 in NIB condition would retail for around $900 and there would be a 10 to 20% premium for the special Olympic markings. If the pistol has been fired you can subtract 25% from its value and if goes below about 90% condition then I'd say it is worth around $600. I hope this helps you.
