Hey I have an old revolver that I got inhirated from my step dad before he died. Heres what I know. Its a break top 5 shot revolver. Its got what I believe they called the american saftey hammer.
There is no model number on the entire gun that I can find but on the very top sight rail it says "harrington & richardson arms co worcester, mass. u.s.a. pat'd oct 4 '87". If anyone has any idea what model or years produced or value of this gun with the info provided it would be greatly appriated.

  I have a pistol my Uncle recently found in his garage,i am no gun expert,so i would just like to know a few things. My uncle says its a .38,so i tryed a .38 spl. bullet and it did not fit,it was too long,then i tryed a .32 and it fell thru.What is the right ammunition?Also,when u pull the trigger back,it stays there unless pulled forward,then operates fine until pulled back again.Can Someone Help Me?

  "Flayderman's Guide To Antique American Firearms" has a chapter devoted to Metallic Cartridge Revolvers/Suicide Specials, etc. In this, in addition to describeing and pricing the handguns he lists a bibliography of pertinent books that give listings of known makers and their guns.
  Incidentally, he describes the revolver you asked about, in passing. Doesn't mention any serial numbers or date of manufacture, but notes there's a patient date of "May 25, 1886" on the revolver.
