I crack myself up! Swiss Schmidt Rubin K-31
Hello Folks,
I just treated myself to a Swiss Schmidt Rubin K-31 for nothing more than the history of the gun itself!! The part I like best was when I pulled off the butt plate and found the tag with the original owners name and date of issue (1928) located just where it's been since that issue date! The story of the K-31 is a great case for arming the masses!! Do y'all (I'm from the south)have a great internet site to visit about the history of this rifle? Also, I really want to shoot it and connect with some of that history. Anybody have a suggestion for the correct load to use right off?
Am I the only person who feels this way about the K-31? Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?

The guys in this forum specialize in K-31's and the other straight pull rifles.

if you remove the buttplate, you may find a piece of folded paper detailing the last soldier it was issued to, what unit he belonged to, when he served, when he was born, and what region he served in. his rank and id number will also be included. tried mine out at 300 yds, and printed 6 1/2 inch 5 round groups from a benchrest. best regards, mike.
