Trigger Job
Any one had any luck with a trigger job on a browning lever action? My tigger is heavy and creepy and I was wondering if it was possible to have a gunsmith get it better.

Is it worth the $70 to get the trigger done. The Models 92/96 Series pistols have a "factory" trigger pull of about 12 to 14 lbs. in the double action mode and 5 to 7 lbs. in single action. The Beretta gunsmiths will expertly polish and fit the critical parts and areas of the trigger mechanism providing you with a crisper and smoother trigger pull.
When completed, your double action pull will be approximately 8.5 to 9 lbs. and your single action about 3.5 to 4 lbs.

In my opinion, given that the smith is being paid to do what he does professionally-Yes, it is worth it-I've seen companies that charge over $100.00 for a trigger job.[8D]

personally, i have never spent 70.00 on a trigger job. it sounds like by your post that the berretta factory will do it for you? i would take it to a reputable gunsmith and get a second opinion on the trigger job. 0 -
I believe my smith charges about $75 to do a trigger. This usually consists of spring replacement as well as polishing and smoothing parts. A trigger job makes a world of difference as far as I'm concerned. If you have it done, make sure you specify whether the gun is being used for self-defense or target shooting. I would not want too light a pull on a duty weapon.

I've never had a double-action done so it might be much more. However, to clean up all the guns I've taken to my 'smith has been $20. If this is to send it to Beretta and have them do it, then I'd say it is worth a lot more to prospective buyers later, just keep the receipt.
Having a predictable enemy is better than having an ally you can't trust.0
