Pistol grip shotgun

Recently was asked to post for a friend on Gunbroker, a Mossberg 410 that has a pistol grip stock - is a this legal gun to sell? Haven't seen this type of stock on a shotgun before.

  As far as I know,it is legal,as long as
  the barrel is at least 18"long,and the overall
  length is at least 26".BW

  Hello, why would it be treated as a handgun? Not being an a$$, just curious about other state's laws on this one. I can see if it was manufactured as an AOW or something, but does IN law state that just because it has a pistol grip it is a handgun? Let us know, I am sure I am not the only one wondering about this one.

  It's the same thing in Illinois. Pistol gripped shotgun requires a 3 day wait like a handgun if being sold by a dealer.

  why do you think they call them 'pistol grips?' as far as ill. is concerned, its a pistol with a 26" bbl! this is the catch....shotguns are pointed, pistols are aimed. anything aimed with a grip, is a pistol. dont blame me, i didnt make the rules. im just trying to help, so dont jump me!
