Technical help??

I can post so I am obviously in the registered users database yet when I enter the same user name and password to place a bid, I get an error message stating my name was not found in the registered user's database. I enter using the same name and password as when I login to post a message.

Anyone else have this issue or have a suggestion? I have tried the resend login info several times and I get a message Emailed to me so I must exist.

When I Email the tech support, I get an automated Email stating this page is not staffed by actual support people and directs me back to the automated help page (which is no help).

  C.Reno,
  The Forums and the Auction are 2 seprate databases which are not linked so you can be registered on 1 and not the other ... or have different names on each ... don't know why!

  OK, I guess that explains it. Now I have to remember my Ebay password as I think Gunbroker is basically run by Ebay.

  No offense meant sir, but I doubt very seriously, that your fleabay password is going to do you any good on GUNBROKER.

  I registered as a bidder in addition to the posting registration. Everything seems to be working OK now. I was just stupid I guess as I did not understand there are 2 different registrations required.
  I admit to be "computer challenged".
  
  Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. Yes, I was mistaken about Ebay too (I thought that was the "other database" but now realize it is separate).
