Opinions on SAR-2
I'm going to be going right past AIM surplus this friday and am considering stopping in and looking at their SAR-2 Romanian rifles and taking a departure from my ususal ancient bolt action schtick. Being an AK style gun I imagine it is utterly reliable, only fairly accurate, but am wondering, what are your first hand opinions? They are $269 plus tax.

The SAR-2? I guess their not too bad. I just don't like them because of the crappy wood on them, The finish on the metal, and all the cosmoline or whatever it is thats smeared all over them. In my opinion, spend another $200.00 and find a used mac 90 ak47 varient. They make them with a stamped receiver and with a milled receiver. Both work great, but if you can find a milled one, buy it. It's a much higher quality rifle. What ever you buy, make sure it will take double stack mags. Good luck!

I have one of the SAR's and they are tuff and relable and fairly accurate. I have not had any problems with it. I would go for it. My two cents.[:)] 0
