I have a L.C. Smith shotgun that I have had for quite some time, I acquired it from my uncle. I would like to find out a ballpark value on this gun.

L.C. Smith shotguns are desireable collector items, but value depends a great deal on condition; so we'll need to hear more from you on what shape yours is in before estimating a value.

The condition of the stock is near perfect, no chips or discoloration. No rust anywhere on the gun. There are some spots on the main body of the gun where the engravings are that can most likely be buffed out. Rating the gun, I would say that it is 90-95%.

Your LC Smith was the lowest of the six different grades of the Single Barrel Trap guns made, but none of them are cheap... all were high quality smoothbores. No way to know what it is really worth until you sell it, but if it were mine to sell, my reserve would be about $1500.

Brophy's book, and Fjestad's Blue Book.
