Is Gunbroker's own info correct?
This is from Gunbroker's shipping information page quoted from ATF :
Here is exactly what the ATF 'Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide' (ATF P 5300.4) says:
(B9) May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by carrier?
A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by carrier to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state. A common or contract carrier must be
used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract
carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm. [18 U. S. C. 922( a)( 2)( A) and 922( e), 27 CFR 178.31]
My question is: Is this information current and correct? If yes, then why must a local FFL holder require gun to be shipped ONLY FROM AN FFL holder? I have contacted UPS and they will not ship a handgun from a non FFL holder and USPS will not ship a declared handgun.
I know this has been covered in other posts but they have conflicting information and are locked topics.

The information is correct!
The local FFL can require anything he wants to. It's his business, and he can do anything he sees fit!
Trust me on this, your only recourse for shipping a handgun is to use FedEx!0 -
Recheck with UPS. I bet they will ship a handgun, if you pay the premuim for overnite air. I've done it several times before. However you might as well ship it through a dealer. They usually only cost what overnite air will cost. A dealer is allowed to ship a handgun by mail. 0 -

I am not the seller so I will not be shipping the firearm. I just want someone to a licensee to receive it without requiring the seller to ship through and FFL holder and pay another FFL fee. The sending and receiving FFL fees plus shipping would be a whopping $75 or more if seller must ship through an FFL also.
I agree that the FFL receiver can choose to set whatever business shipping requirements he wants and I respect that. I want to find an FFL holder in Phoenix, Az. who does not require "special" shipping requirements but rather accepts the exisitng federal and state requirements as sufficient and will accept a private individual shipping a handgun to a licensed FFL dealer out of state.
