Ducks Unlimited Rifle And Shotgun
I just aquired a 1985-1986 Remington 1100 12ga. shotgun and a 1985-1986 Remington 700 .30-06 rifle from my grandfather. Both guns are Ducks Unlimited special editions with gold engraving on the receivers. The shotgun has an english style straight stock, and the rifle has a Leupold scope. Neither gun has been fired. What is and approximate value of each gun.

Exact numbers are hard to come by and I'm not a rifle person, so please allow me to generalize...
D/U guns, while nice, carry very little premium (if any) over any other gun in a similar grade. The 1100 will be valued within a couple of dollars of any other 1100 in similar condition and grade.
Remember - Neither of these guns is a limited edition by any means. These are modern day utility guns with some nice features.

adding to what nord said, many times I have seen DU guns sell for less than a non DU gun of the same make and model , reason I've heard are,,, Its was a freebie, don't like the looks of the DU stuff , things along those lines ,,, 0 -
By all means, these guns were not FREEBIES!! These guns cost $2000 apiece in 1985! 0 -
The guns are worth as others have said about the same or a little less than a comparable shape one in the case. There were a few of the very first DU guns that were worth more to some collectors to fill out a collection and that the very first were somewhat rare(more the idea of it was the first of the fund raising idea). I personally bought a DU Berretta 390 for about $100 less simply cause the dealer couldn't sell it as new (went thru DU and the winner's ownership) and the fact that he didn't want it around when the DU boys came around to shake him down for a gun donation again.
If you like the guns and they shoot for you, it's a great thing espec. if there are some memories of granddad, otherwise some people feel they are just gaudy in the field.0
