Mine has put up with a LOT of 7mm mag over the last 5 years and has been a great scope. I sold a VX III 4.4-14x50 to pay for it.

Solid construction,.great lenses,..and the red dot makes a meat gun from he!!

why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

One poster has gone on and on about warrenty problems on one Nikon scope. I consider Nikon a fine scope, and they have apparantly resolved their service probles, and Burris is even better. Burris' warrenty is one word: Forever. It ranks with Leupold and perhaps a couple of others as top US made scopes.

My heros have always killed cowboys.

I have owned nothing but Burris. I had a pair of binoculars that were not water proof and they got water stains in them. I sent them to Burrie to get cleaned and they sent me the new model that was comperable to them for a small fee. I was elated. I had a scope that the reticles went twisty on me. I sent it to Burris and had them fixed with my choice of reticle for free. Super company and product.

Have 1.75x6 rifle and 2x7 pistol Signature series scopes and mounted on some big boomers for years. Absolutely no problems with either scope.

    Keep off the Ridgeline

I purchased a Burris 4-16x44 Signature series about a year ago. I have nothing but praise for the scope. I put it on a weatherby svr in .223. It will shoot 3 shot 1/2in groups with the gun scope combo. I had a weaver on it before and could only get 1-1 1/2in groups with that combo. Good glass does make a difference!!!

Guess I am the oddball here. Bought a 4-16x44 signature. Put it on a custom 7mm-08imp. and the first time I took it hunting something broke. One of the internal lenses. Sent it back to burris to be fixed. Gunsmith gave me a nikon to use while mine was getting fixed. Got the scope back and it still was not right. So I gort rid of it and have been using nikons ever since. Will not own another burris. Turnaround time was quick but they didnt fix the problem. And they wouldnt give me a new scope. So I shoot only guns with nikons on em. Never a seconds trouble and to me they are brighter and clearer than burris or the lupies

Don't run, you will only die tired.

Saw pix of the scope the guy "gave away". Damage to the tube was caused by improper ring installation. Claimed he never did that.
Looked like it crimped the tube. That can negatively affect quality viewing & adjustments. The president of Burris himself did the colluminating.
    Not warranty

Have sent back more Nikons then Burris due to construction problems.
Just got a new Nikon (3rd trip to Nikon)after the customer went on one hunt to Canada for bear, and a second for Reindeer. Scope fogged up twice.

They are all designed, and made by fallable humans.

    Happy Bullet Holes!

I happen to be the person who "gave away the scope". In fact I got rid of all mine. Replaced them with Bausch & Lomb Elite 4200's, & Leupold. I never claimed they were not a good scope-only that their warranty sucks.
As far as "Guns & Glass" reply, on "improper ring installation" that's bulls---.
"Saw pictures", when were the pictures taken ? Probably not until after I returned it the second time.
"Burris President did columinating" , what does that prove ? Maybe he should spemd more time in customer service, than in the repair shop.
It just so happens that the scope was mounted in "burris signature rings. I have been mountings scopes for over 35 yrs., & I agree I am not an expert, but not a novice either. I always use the "Brownell lapping tool" to align the rings (can't use it on the burris signature rings because of the "plastic sleeve/insert"). As I said the improper mounting is a "cop out", for some one not taking responsibility for there work.
We all know that all makes of scopes are not perfect. Most of us have sent back a scope over 20 yrs or so. I'll bet on this forum, you could get negative replys on every scope made. IT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE, that makes a big difference, & some people just don't get it.

Chestsprings, don't remember who the name was, only that a ruckus was supposedly raised over it at the factory level. If Signature rings were used, it would be almost impossible to have the rings marks, and damage done to the scope that way.
Perhaps, and here's a 'way out' for everyone, the serial numbers got mixed up during repair.
    I didn't use a name, even if I remembered who it was, I wouldn't.
I don't work for any manufacturer, but am an independent agent, who only seeks to help, advise, and spread correct info,..no matter who it is. Just cold facts.
    No injustice-harm was meant.

Find me any company who's president grew up in the business, can operate in a technical shop, and takes the time to personally not just check out a problem situation, but "roll up his sleeves' making a repair-adjustment himself.
That's care & personalized attention many more companies should give.

Glad your happy with the B&L 4200, it is a good scope.

    Happy Bullet Holes!
