What is the best and/or easiest way to clean a 10/22 magazine? Thanks. Geri

  Any suggestions for 10/22 mags? I'm looking at the 25 rd mags from Ramline, Butler Creek, etc. Are the steel lips worth the extra $$$?
  
  Also, is there a simple, reliable mag loader THAT WORKS? Friend of mine uses one & it seems like he spends more time screwing with the loader than it would take to load one at a time.

  most of the time i just spay brake cleaner in them and let them dry and re oil them with LPS 3 and then turn them let the excess drain over night
  if you deside to tear them down do not rewind the spring over 3 turns and they can be a pain to put back together

  I just clean mine from the opening with a Q-tip, once it gets too gunked up then the spring is likely getting tired anyway. I've had mine since '91 and have only went through 2 standard magazines. I did a lot of my "ammo-flinging" after loading a Ram-line 50 round, but I cleaned them the same way.
  The factory doesn't recommend taking them apart, but then agian they don't recommend much of anything. [:D]

  I wouldn't recommend using brake cleaner because of the fact that it is damaging to all plastics and polymers. If you are going to clean it without dissambly, then I would try an electronics type of cleaner (using compressed air to loosen and force any debris out) and a silicone spray lubricant; both are plastic and polymer friendly. If you are going to disassemble and clean, then I would suggest referring to the manual because the proper amount of spring tension is imparative for correct function.

  The best and easiest is to just disassemble,clean, then reassemble following the manual.I always use brake cleaner aerosols and wipe with RemOil.I'm still using the same 6 mags I purchased new with the gun in 1964. Never had a malfunction.I couldn't count the number of bricks I've fired through that little jewel!!! Love that gun-Bob

  I use Gun Scrubber in the spray can. I think Birchwood Casey makes it( not sure though, I'm not in my workshop, so I'm guessing ). This will desolve just about any heavy build-up. As far as brake cleaner goes, I've never used it before, but the way that Gun Scrubber smells, works and dries fast,it might be the same formula. I like it because it can get into small
  places that I can't with my brushs. The force of the spray from the can gets any build-up right off. Like the guys mentioned up above, spray it till dripping wet, than set it aside and let the access solvent drain off before using your favorite gun oil.I hope I've helped you!
