romanian .22
a friend of mine just got his ffl and was putting together an order from s.o.g. i took a chance and ordered a romanian military trainer in .22 he gave me a price i couldn't refuse hand picked with an extra clip for $60.00. i don't know much about them, but, they look solid, not fancy, and that they can take some abuse. i plan to give it to my 8 year old grandson as his first plinker/rabbit gun. i would appreciate any comments, pro or con, and, any tips to get the best out of the rifle. thanks much.

Their a great little rifle for the money. Make sure you clean it well before shooting it, they had been packed for years, and are well preserved. Also some of the dove tails for the sope are off. 0 -
Great little rifle! Just refinished mine. Browned all the metal, refinished the stock, everyone thinks my "new" .22 bolt gun is so cool. Got lucky and stumbled on a dutch auction for the mags, dealer where I got the rifle wanted $20 a piece!
Mine has been extremely accurate as well. Only problems I ever ran into: 1) one mag with a worn out spring, so it didn't always eject reliably; and 2) on a second one I picked up for $25 some dork had cross threaded the stock screw (hence the price). PITA to fix, cheap, but a PITA none the less. Don't cross thread this screw!
Got a new gun for my ex-wife.....pretty good trade, huh?0 -
Got one awhile back, shortened and floated the barrel put a 3-9x40 up top and refinished the stock in hard rubber texture. Them little guns will drive tacks. Might get a few more, for the $ you can't beat it.
Love them Beavers

Nice little guns, tell your friend to buy a few, not only will he get a better price but he will be sure to sell them!

I bought two of them, one for me, and one for my 8yr old grandson. I had to cut his down a bit so the length of pull fit him, but I didn't know there was a coil of hard wire in the hole for the cleaning kit. It didn't do my saw any good, but it didn't tear it up either. Pull the wire coil out first if you have to cut the stock down.

Agree with all the above, a GREAT little rifle and you should buy several as all your buddies will want one. The crazy 3 blade sight is enough to create interest and they are accurate enough that the local club had had silhouette rifle shoots using the (locally called) Romanian Squirrel Rifle, The only weak link is the firing pin. I have sold about 4 dozen and have had 4 or 5 come back with broken firing pins. Century currently has them along with scope rings in stock. 0
