Winchesters model 88
I have 2 model 88s in .243 one is #147451a that I believe is 1962 production. It has hand checkering(with a couple of minor scratches on the bottom of the stock) with a 22 inch barrel. the other one is #211791a with pressed basket weave(no scratches) both have excellent blueing. the newer one was unfired when I got it. It has since had 11 rounds thru it. the older one has been fired but very little. both guns look factory new except for the minor scratches on the one. I would appreciate any info on th value of these rifles. thanks Bryan

My book shows a very late 1963 and a late 1967. I'll let someone better qualified set the price.

bobwhite,
Check with Winchester about a recall involving the firing pin, if it hasn't been done already.

Firing Pin recall was for the Model 100 only.

Should sell between $600-$700 . 0 -
ATF,
Yup, that's right. I thought that it was both. But I found a really interesting site in the process of looking up the recall: www.firearmsid.com
