Whats it worth?
i have a model 27 s/w 357 6" configuration in the presentation case with all tools, appx. 90% or better, however it also has a companion cylinder for 357/44 bain and davis. I have also acquired all the dies, brass, reloading manuals,etc for the 357/44 cartridge. i know what i have spent, but whats it worth or is beauty in the eye of the beholder.

Your Winchester 1894, Serial # 47329 was produced in 1896. The Production run began at Serial # 44360 and ended at 76464 for the 1896 production year. Considering that your Gun is a Re-Blue does hurt the value...If your gun is a Carbine????? it should or would make up for part of the Differance in Value..Is it a Carbine? How about Sights? Does it have Carbine Sights...? Does it have the Saddle Ring? Not knowing any of the particulars of this gun I can't give an accurate estimate of value......! Its worth what you paid for it....and maybe on todays market its worth a couple of hundred More....Best...thats the best I can do......

First I must tell you I'm no expert on 94s. The serial # on your rifle indicates 1896 manufacture. You state a metal endcap on the forearm, that is standard for a rifle, not a carbine. The standard barrel length on a 94 rifle is 26"'s so your's sounds like either a special order or a cutoff. The 2/3 magazine is also a special order item. You need to show your rifle to a knowledgeable 94 collector because it seems to have several desireable features. I have heard that the early 94 records were destroyed in a fire so they can't be lettered or authenicated. A lot of them have been modified over the years. George Madis's book "The Winchester Book" has an extensive section showing the different available options. It sounds like you may have a very interesting rifle.

Hi guys, I don't know much about these guns, so I don't know what carbine sights look like. With a 22 inch barrel, I don't think it would be a carbine. It doesn't have a saddle ring. I came across this description in a book, does this sound like my gun. "Extra Lightweight Rifle, 22" or 26" round barrel with half magazine. Plain walnut straight-grip stock with shotgun buttplate and plain capped forearm." It sounds close to me, however I'm not sure about the butt plate. I'm almost sure what I have is called the crescent but. The magazine on the one I have, I'm not sure if they would call it 1/2 or 2/3. Thanks 0 -

If you could post a few pictures of the rifle, it would help greatly. You're rifle sounds as if it may have been built to order. Should this be the case, it will be a very rare and valuable piece. It has many desirable options and features that could, quite easily off set the re-blue. 1896 would seem the year of production. It has considerable value to begin with, should it be a custom built, special
order, or presentation gun, it's value could be extreme.

Don't know where you are hung up, so here is the condensed version:
1) Get the pic up on your drive.
2) Upload the pic to a web pic host, like Andale. There are some free ones, and some ISPs offer space too. Some members have discovered that their ISPs hosting service only permits other on site use though. If you have one of those you will need to upload them elsewhere.
3) Click on the pic icon above the message box. Two sets of code will pop up, each in brackets.
4) Copy the URL of the pic from the host site, and paste it in between the two sets of code. Use preview to check your results.
If this info doesn't help, describe what you are doing and we'll try to help you get it right.
