Can anyone give me the year of manufacture of a Hunter Arms Hunter Special shotgun sn 157xxx.

  According to Brophy's book, L.C. Smith and Fulton serial numbers are comingled. If this is the case, your Hunter Special was made in 1937, the first year of manufacture.
