harpoon gun

Hi there:

A friend has offered to sell me a H&R single shot, nickle plated, 45/410 harpoon gun in its original carrying/storage chest, with all of the accessories in fine condition. do any of you know if this gun is legal (I don't intend to harpoon anything with it) and approximately when it was manufactured.   a friend has a new in the wood crate kongsberg model 52 12mil harpoon gun,its built from a 98 mauser,has all the extras,does anyone know about this harpoon and the value? materal is dated early 50's

  ya want to sell it or keep it? i know harpoon guns very well. my captain use to arm me with one...in the whalin dayz....rrrrr. serious...do you want to sell it? i live up near mystic seaport in conn and i know them well. give all you a can on the subject piece. i'll fill you in.

  thanks for the reply bobski,the gun is not for sale,it has all the accesories including 4 spooled drums,4 harpoons shells,cleaning kit,wrenches,and all the paperwork,all he wants to know is the approx value.he bought the gun about 20 years ago for 600.00 from a pawn shop in fla.

  depending on make model and condition, ive seen guns go for 1000.00 to 3000.00. sounds like a keeper!
