a quick sks question
i picked up an sks at an estate sale today...very good condition it's chinese has a spiked bayo original sling and cleaning kit..all numbers match on bolt,trigger assm,magwell,receiver and also last 5 numbers are stamped in the stock as well,has a very short sniper scope on it..there is chinese writing on it next to a pyramid shape design...my question is i have some romanian sks rifles and a russian.on the barrel of the romanian sks is the importers stamp which is century arms international c.a.i. my russian is original with papers so only russian markings are on it...this chinses has no barrel markings to indicate if it was an import...should there be something to indicate if it was sold thru an import company or could this be a real deal???what should i look for

i did look it over very good with a magnifying glass thinking maybe it was stamped very light but i can see no markings anywhere on the barrel even with the gas tube off clean as a whistle..it is not new by no means and there is wear and tear on it..some rust here and there and normal dings to the wood,just looks pretty good to me from some i have seen at the shows..any website i can go to to see what the markings are.. 0 -
Possibly a Viet Nam War trophy. When a G.I. was allowed to bring one home it was accompanied by a letter giving authorization. Without the letter it isn't worth much more than any other Chinese SKS in similar conditon. You might go back to the point of purchase and inquire if any such letter has been found. 0 -
