    i did look it over very good with a magnifying glass thinking maybe it was stamped very light but i can see no markings anywhere on the barrel even with the gas tube off clean as a whistle..it is not new by no means and there is wear and tear on it..some rust here and there and normal dings to the wood,just looks pretty good to me from some i have seen at the shows..any website i can go to to see what the markings are..

    Possibly a Viet Nam War trophy. When a G.I. was allowed to bring one home it was accompanied by a letter giving authorization. Without the letter it isn't worth much more than any other Chinese SKS in similar conditon. You might go back to the point of purchase and inquire if any such letter has been found.
