M-1 Carbine Experts.....
Can anyone tell me what markings, if any, would be found on the butt plate of a Winchester M-1 Carbine with a serial number of 6,546,XXX?
This gun was supposedly made June 27, 1945. Thanks in advance!

According to Craig Riesch's US M1 Carbines Wartime Production, it should have 4 diamonds in the top row and 2 diamonds in the bottom row.
According to Neal, if you look at enough M1 carbine butt plates, your eyes are going to bug out & your head will spin round & round, & you will find yourself as confused as when you started.

Neal, You're a whiz......especially at "long distance diagnosis" of certain "gun diseases" which, I think are afflicting me.......
From your description, I take it there are no markings like a "W" or anything like that, then. Thanks again!
