Can somebody tell me how old these guns are? And what the gun is worth? Any history on the gun would be great I'd love to hear what this gun made for and the uses of it. Thank you!

  Hello, welcome to the forums. I had one, needed some parts, couldn't get the parts, traded the gunsmith for a J.C. Higgins bolt action .22 but that will needs a bolt and mag. assembly. Don't know how old it was but I am thinking it was made about 1950 something.

  the h&r 22 special revolvers were manufactured between 1925 and 1941.
  they had a blue finish and a 6" barrel length, chambering was 9 22 rimfire or 7 .22winchester rimfire cartridges. a 10" barrel version was also offered called the .22 expert.
  
  value of these revolvers is very depentant upon condition and will vary between $75 and $200.
  
  the .22 special was one of h&r's first large frame .22 rimfire revolvers suitable for informal target work, small game hunting and the trap line and a generally fun gun to shoot.
