sako 30-06 value

Ive asked this once before but now i have more info...the sako is 30-06 and has a sightron 4.5x14x50 scope. I'm not sure who manufactored the mounts but the top of them are engraved with a pretty deep swirl pattern. The gun has sako L691 on receiver and says cal 30-06 made in finland on the same side of barrel. the gun has a sako recoil pad , no sights , 23 inch barrel...the gun looks like new except for a small minute rub spot (maybe) on side of barrel...very minor. the stock has a palm swell and is highly checkered with a tip and grip cap of a different wood. serial range is 88xxx ...   Should be a pre-Garcia (1972 and earlier) model called the "Finnbear". Check and see if the name "Garcia" or "Rymac" or "Finnbear" appear on the barrel anywhere - the 1972 and earlier models have a higher value. The scope rings would have been supplied with the rifle, as they are a dovetail type. If the floorplate is engraved, the stock has skipline checkering and a Monte Carlo butt, it is the Deluxe version. Otherwise, it is the Standard sporter. There is a $200 difference between the Deluxe and the Standard models. Assuming it is in 95% condition, the Deluxe model will go for around $750, while the Standard version will go for approx. $595.
  
  I know there are those who will argue about the pricing, but I tend to be conservative, knowing what people will pay.
  
  A few years back, I sold a Sako Forester (pre-1972) with a customized stock for $850, minus scope.

  its the deluxe then...has skip checkering and monte carlo stock and the floorplate is engraved... theres no finnbarr or garcia anywhere..
  
  i also have a 223 vixon the same with a leupold 3 x 9 but on bottom it says stoeger inc n.j. ...so whats the value of that one ? alot less ?

  That would also be a Pre-Garcia and would fall into the same catagory for price ranges.
  
  If you can find the name "Vixen" on the .223, look for the name "Finnbear" in the same place on the barrel for the 30-06.
  
  These are both nice rifles and calibers - shouldn't have any problems selling them, if you ever want to.
