More stevens 311a double 410 help
Picked up my stevens 311A 410 double. It has the following stamped on the barrels underneath, on the frame and even on the wood forearm. It has the letter A in a circle the letter H in a circle and the letters U Q next to them. Can anyone help me with the year of manfacture? Also the barrels do not want to remove like most doubles. Haven't figured out how to get them off. Forearm is held on with two screws. I can read the marks without completley removing the barrels, plus it's also stamped underneath the forearm. I would be greatfull for any information. Thankyou

Beltfed--The numbers you mention will not help in determining the date of manufacture. There is no need to remove the forearm either.Looking at the bottom of the receiver between the front of the trigger guard and the hinge pin area you should find a number/letter combo inside a small circle.it can sometimes be faint and hard to see.Give me the letter you find there, not the number. p.s.If you pull up on the front of the forearm it will come loose.no need to remove the screws. There will be quite a bit of resistance, but pull, you will not break anything. You then can remove the barrels by pushingthe breakdown lever to the side an allowing them to drop down. Hope this helps. 0
