small ring mauser
Does the term small ring nauser refrer to the physical size of a mauser action? If so, what other sizes are available and to what does the term ring refer?

I have a 7mm small ring with 19" barrel and turned down bolt, tapped for scope. How can I tell if this is a 93 or a 95 and would there be a difference in aftermarket stock to fit?
Thanks,
Colin

Your barrel length is off by 3/4", but the carbine you describe seems to resemble the Mexican Model 1895.
According to my reference there are only minor differences between the models 1893 and 1895, i.e. Bolt Head.
Can't help you regarding the stock, it wasn't addressed in my book.0 -
IF THE HEAD OF THE BOLT HAS A FLAT SPOT (WHERE THE BOLT PICKS UP A CART. FROM THE MAGAZINE) IT IS A M-95, IF THE BOLT HEAD IS ROUND (LIKE A M-98 OR ALMOST ANY OTHER BOLT ACTION) IT IS A M-95. STOCK FOR EITHER WILL FIT WITH VERY MINOR ALTERATION. 0 -
OOPS, END OF FIRST SENTENCE SHOULD BE 'M-93' 0 -
Thanks!
