Ruger P-97?
Is this used Ruger any good? Worth my 300 bucks? Will it last me as long as a glock or Springfield 1911 would?

Does anyone here have any experience with this gun?What is the over all quality of this gun and the reliability experienced?I found one for $350.00 which feels like its a good price compared to all the other .45's I see but figure low price could mean not worth having.Thank You. 0 -
I have shot the 95 and the 97. I own the Ruger p90 which is the older model. It is a great price for the weapon. And I believe Ruger is offering a rebate at that! The only difference I could notice was the frame was a polimer composite and the slide was more tappered at the end. They are all reliable weapons, built tough and they can be put thru the wringer. They are not the cadillac of handguns, no fancy bells and whistles, but they sure chew thru the ammo with out any hiccups. I've put about 1000 rounds thru my P90 and even though I own several handguns i still take that to the range with me every time.

I've had one for 3 years and probably have shot 1000 rounds through it. It is accurate in my opinion about 2" for 8 shots give of take a half inch, depending on the load. I've never had a malfunction with factory ammo, though I had perhaps 5 stovepipe jams with cast handloads before I got my dies adjusted right. The trigger is not great but easy to "learn". This is a relatively light 45 and with the + P loads it can be a bit jumpy. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one, I've been considering a Kimber but from what I've been seeing on the forums I think I'll wait on that. I hope this helps! 0 -

I have one chambered in .40 caliber.
You could drive a nail in with it and it would still fire! Very reliable, a little bulky but nice overall.
AND you cant beat the price range!

When the magazines tested the P97 they fired 5000 rounds with NO failure to fire, and stayed as accurate as with first rounds.We have 3 P97 Rugers in our family. They shoot anything, no misfires and accurate. The grip is much better than older Rugers 0
