241 pre-Speedmaster
Gentlemen,
Any info out there as to why Remington did not place the "Speedmaster" moniker onto the model 241 .22 rifle until the second year of production? Was there some issue with copyright? Did Remington ever use the SM name on any rifle before the 241 or was it the first to use the name?

I've often wondered the same thing.My first .22
(that I bought myself)was a 241 (yes I still have it).
I have several now.Only one has "Speedmaster" on it.
I know we have a .22 expert here on GB that hopefully
can answer your(our)question.[:p][:p][:p]
