A few old guns I need help with...
Hey, I'm doing some research on some old family guns and was wondering if anyone could help.
I have 2 rifles. I'm interested mainly in history, such as age, and other notable facts, and for curiousity, value.
Gun #1.
This gun has an inscription just above the trigger reading "STEVENS, Savage Arms Corporation, Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A., MODEL 620" Also, at the start of the barrel reads "Proof Tested - 20 Gauge, --2 3/4 inch Chamber--" I haven't found any more inscriptions or stuff such as a serial number.
Gun #2.
This is a smaller rifle. I don't believe it's a pellet gun, the barrel is a little big for that. I can find nothing on this gun other than "Eastern Arms Company" above the trigger again (is this area above the trigger the stock?). Anyway, it says that there, and like the first, at the start of the barrel reads an inscription, "Barrel and Lug Forged in One Piece." I'm sorry I have nothing else on this or am able to explain it better.
Any help would be appreciated. If you maybe know where a serial number or something helpful like that would be please tell me. I'd really like to learn about these weapons. I have another gun that I'm also looking into. It is a double barreled shotgun. The only thing I can find on it is "RICHARD." I didn't ask about this because I have such limited information on it, as that could just be the name of someone who used to own it. Thanks in advance for any help.

I now believe the gun reading Richard could possibly be a Wesley Richards gun. 0 -

The STEVENS Model 620 is a Hammerless Slide Action Repeating Shotgun......Takedown, came in 12, 16, and 20 Gauge, 5 shell tubular magazine, barrel lengths 26", 28", 30", and 32 inch. Choice of Chokes were offered, Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder and Cylinder Bore. Checkered Pistol-grip stock and Slide Handle...Made 1927 to 1953..
In Very Good condition...$150.00 to $175.00....next...
Is # 2 a Cartridge Gun....? Not enough discription to work with...I can tell you this...Eastern Arms Company was a Trade Name for Meriden Firearms and Sold by Sears and Roebuck/Simpson/Sears...
On number 3...Dismount the Barrels and look under the Breech End...Look and see if there is an OVAL with the Letters E over LG in the center....if so...Its a Belguim made knock down....Worth a $100.00 to $150.00 as a Wall Hanger.........

Your shotgun was made sometime after 1940 judging by the way the company name is used. A model 620 is worth about $325. in new condition - $175. in 80% condition. The other 2 are giving me some trouble.

I don't believe the second gun is a cartridge gun. Explain it a little for me, but the way I see it, you dismount the barrel, and slide in the shell.
I don't see the oval on the last gun. After dismounting the barrels, all I can see is under the left barrel is written "GH 5." Is it in a place that I would be able to spot easily? Also is it in a spot that after regular use, and then sitting around for several decades, could of worn away? All these guns are in fair condition, though they are a bit beat up. One more thing, if this has that emblem, how old would it be?

GOOD! Two Down....Now onwards and upwards...This Unknown Caliber and Type is perplexing...How about a Photo....can you supply one? You could have a Chinese Hand Cannon for all I know... Don't try unscrewing anything or taking anything apart.....Drat!!!!! Where the heck are You located? May per chance You live in the Peoples Republic of California?...Near Los Angeles....?...Probably Not...Adak or Banger most likely....in any event...get Me a Photo...then I'm sure We can get this last Piece figured out........

1890's to 1920's.....Sold new for $12.00 to $15.00, Mail Order, Hardware Store or Gun Shop....
