Rem 870 Barrel

Can I put a barrel from a Magnum on my standard 2 3/4" early model Ser# SO18639V? Many thanks, Larry.

  Yes, but you can't shoot the magnum shells. Stick with the 2 3/4" shells and you will be just fine.

  the gun will fire a magnum shell in the magnum bbl attached to your gun, the gun just wont function because the ejection port is too small. the case will not clear the port nor will it feed properly from the magazine tube. the feed action bar is too short as well. follow me? but it will fire a mag if you put it in by hand. but then its a pain to get out. personally, i wouldnt be bothered. just shoot 2 3/4" shells!
