    It sounds like you already have a good idea of exactly what your gun is. It should have the GHD inspector initials, & it has cutouts in the frame & receiver for the Swartz safely. These are relatively scarce in original condition.

    Value would be difficult to estimate, especially without knowing the exact condition & how much of it is original.

    thanks neil...if it was in say 95%..this gub show all the parkerizing and is a very substantial piece. ball park,or maybe lowest to highest figure it could bring. thanks

    I can't remember the last time I saw one of these actually change hands, so it's going to have be a wild guess. But, it's really ALL original, I would think it would sell in the $1,500-2,000 range.

    If not all original, expect only $500-700.

    Take a look at the feed ramp; it should be polished bright with horizontal striations (not parked). Look at the GHD with a 10x magnifier; you should see "burnishing" (areas within the letters that are bare metal, since they were struck after parkerizing.) Also, the barrel should be blue with "COLT .45 AUTO" near the link, with a "P" on the link stud, and possibly other letter forward of the link.
