Anyone know anything about my 12 guage billyclub?

  If I remember correctly these were made for certain prison guards sometime in the 1930s. I believe these are still classed as a class III weapon, I don't remember if they have been classed a curio.

  Lake Erie Chemical and Federal Laboratories made similar devices to what you describe.
  Depending on size, they were chambered for cartridges ranging in caliber/gauge, .38 to 12.
  The cartridges/shells fired in these launcher/projectors were loaded with a tear gas compound rather then shot or bullets.
  It's not prudent for safety reasons to fire these launchers with conventional ammo and also probably illegal.

  Yep, you've got a night stick or riot baton with a built in tear gas dispenser. What's the overall length?
  
  I'd be careful about shooting any full charge ammo. It may not even be rated for them.
