Trigger adjusting

I often see fully adjustable trigger for weight and travel, as part of a gun add. I have recently purchased a Winchester Coyote in 223. I would like to know if this trigger adjustment is something I should attempt my self or should I get it to a gun smith? If I can do it safely is there any suggestions to the process.

  gunsmith or buy an aftermarket to adjust yourself.

  When you get to adjusting a trigger try cycling the action roughly and rapidly a few times. Put the safety on and pull the trigger then switch the safety off and jar the gun to see if the striker falls.
  Only after such a test should you try live ammo in it.
  When I was a kid I had a doggy 1895 straight pull Mannlicher Steyr sporter with double set triggers. While cycling ammunition through the rifle, the striker slipped off the too lightly adjusted trigger and blew a hole in the wall. The brick outer wall stopped the bullet. I did a quick plastering job and my parents never found out.
