Which Redfield do i have???
I picked up a 3x9x40 Redfield scope today but have no idea what model it is.The scope is about 12-3/4" long. The only markings on the scope is a silver widefield emblem with a big red letter R in the center. No other markings except the power numbers on the power ring.It looks similar to the older traditional model, but is not.It is not a low profile-not a widefield-not a tracker or golden 5 star.I am positive it is a Redfield, but which model??Is it the illuminator model? Also, was it made in Denver?and When?Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

According to the 2004 Shooters Bible the Illuminator was available in the 3x9x42 (not 40) and the overall length is 12.63" so that's about what you measured.
All the 3x anything Illuminator models feature a Truplex reticle. It doesn't really give any more meaningful info into what you're asking but maybe it'll help a bit.
If it has model #'s listed on it they are 8006xx (where xx is 19-23 for the 3x something models)
