Stoeger Uplander
Is the Stoeger Uplander Surpreme a good gun for the money?

This is my opinion only, others will probably be different. The gun itself is functional and seems to be well made enough. I had one made probably 12 years ago, so might be different than those imported now. The wood ain't fancy but it works. I had the 26" and I thought the thing kicked like a mule even with trap loads. Another fella had one that he shot sporting clays with with the 181/2" barrels. We all wondered how he scored as well as he did or that he stood it that much. I decided to trade it off and would never shoot another side by side. A few years later I picked up a Stevens on a trade I couldn't refuse. For whatever reason, that gun is much more comfortable for me to shoot. I think some has to do with the drop of the butt. See if you can find someone to try a few rounds thru the Stoeger before you buy. It might be to your liking, but none of about 8 of us cared about it much. 0 -
I took one on trade in a 20ga with 26 in bbl , thought it was just what I wanted untill I shot it. the darn thing kicked like a mule traded it off first chance I got. to bad though it was a nice little gun. [8D]
