Very good rifle in a very good caliber. I would suggest the new synthetic T3, it is lightweight and has a great feel to it. Enjoy.

    Mad dog,

Thanks. That's my first choice but they are difficult to find. How about the White Tail Hunter?

The whitetail hunter would be great also. I bought a used one for my 12 year boy in a 25-06 and it shot nice but he flinched so we went down to a custom .243 with a mauser 98 action on a shilen barrel and a youth model monte carlo stock. He shoots it great but we will definately be looking for another tikka in a 25-06 when he grows out of this youth gun.

I saw new T3 rifles on this site for around $439. As you know, used will be hard to find because they are the newer model. I really like the whitetail in the laminate stock but I prefer the T3 because of the light weight. Good luck on your search.

I have a Tikka whitetail hunter in 30/06 and love it. I could not ask for a better shooter, especially for $400. The action is smooth as silk, and the trigger breaks like glass at about 2 1/2 lbs.
