AK: Romanian or Bulgarian?

OK, I have a lightly used Romanian SAR-1 AK-47 7.62, and was wondering how they compare with the AK-47 Bulgarian with Milled Reciever? I have heard a lot about Romanian SAR-1 reliability and durability, but what am I comparing? Would I be wise to trade my trusty SAR in for a Bulgarian? They do look prettier, synthetic stock, and the blueing does look better. Or am I wasting money?

  You can get the synthetic stock for your SAR1. I have a SAR3 and put a metal skelaton stock on it and synthetic fore grip. It looks like a Gail. The SAR rifles are very good. My 2 cents [8D]

  Don't sell that perfectly good Romanian for a Bulgarian. You need to order some nice stocks from KVAR:

  Get a rail from:
  http://www.ultimak.com/
  And buy yourself a nice red dot.

  I agree the Romanian is a fine Rifle,I use all Romanian Mags with mine, I got them from www.tapco.com for around $10.00 each new in the wrap.They may not be on their website,but they have them in their catalog if their not sold out?

  What do you do to get a muzzle brake on an SAR without major gunsmithing? Any products that pin on the front site of an SAR?

  For whoever is interested, I did get the OD Kvar stock set and it looks as good as the picture 4wheeler sent. Thanks 4wheeler. I am now looking into some sort of muzzle brake as my next project.
