Bore cleaning' HELP
Would appreciate any info regarding cleaning a badly fouled bore, this is on a old Military rifle. Patches just keep coming out black, I have plugged the bore and put solvent down it to soak. Didnot seem to have a great deal of inpact. Any suggestions?

OK here goes:
get some sweets 7.62 solvent. This stuff is pushing the envelope of harshness,..but is safe and will not hurt anything as long as you don't leave it for an hour. The bottle says 10-15minutes,..that is about right, no longer.
Get a nylon brush (the sweets eats the bronze brushes). Let the bore sit with the sweets in it for 15 minutes,..brushing vigorously during this time.
Run another sweets patch or two through,..and then dry patch it. Now run some Kroil through to neutralize the sweets. Let this sit 15-20 minutes,...and dry patch.
Go back to the sweets,...and again,..brush the heck out of it.
dry patch the sweets after 15 minutes,..and then neautralize with Kroil.
repeat this until the patches show up much cleaner,...then drop down a notch in aggresiveness and use shooters choice in place of the sweets. Still following the proceedure.
You may have better part of a half day wrapped up in it,...(so have something else to do in the mean time). Once the patches are clean and the bore looks more healthy,..let it sit with the kroil in it,...heavy application,..for over night. Then you may wish to go one more time with the shooters choice and then kroil and a dry patch before heading off to shoot it.
Remember to dry the chamber of any solvent or oil before firing a round in it!!!!

I'd agree with HeDog on this one, that Blue Wonder will rip the crud out of the bore in a hurry. I had a really fouled bore on an old Mauser and a couple runs through with Blue Wonder got it squeaky clean.

Personal experience with the Blue Wonder on a neglected 73 Winchester that I had pretty much given up hope. It worked!!!!! I'll second what kj said, if it doesn't work. I'll buy the whats left.
