My Gun Show find today is a Nickel 41 Colt DA 4" ($50)
Ser # on crane and frame 445
There is another set of number on the butt 147 over 945
Inventory number?
Finish is at least 90% Everything tight and crisp except as note below
Not sure of the Model appears to me to be a New Navy but I need a second (or more) opinion(s)
Was sold as a parts gun but I think it is restorable crane is bent, grips
and ejector/rachet head missing.

The 147 over 945 is the serial number - 147945. Looks like the year of manufacture is 1901 (check here: http://www.coltparts.com/feature_1.html)
I've got a nickle plated Colt DA .41 also. It's a Model 1892 New Army Navy, S/N: 137XXX, made in 1900 or 1901. Somebody, in their infinite wisdom, cut the barrel down and I'd like to replace it. If you don't restore yours, I'd like to get my hands on it.0
