tec experts?

got this tec9 kg99 jams every round or two thought it must be a mag problem,but i got two new mags and they work the same.I would like to keep this gun,but i would want it to work properly. it seems the empty shells don't eject and get caught in the slide.If anyone knows of a good sight that has parts for this gun,or a manual please share Thank You , TIM

  I have an AB-10 which is similar. I have to shoot full metal jacketed bullets with a round nose in mine. It will not cycle properly with the USA magazines. Some of the other mags I had to break them in and they gradually started to cycle properly.Good luck.

  i am currently using fmj in mine i even tried a couple brands all new ammo, also i got 2 well used and 2 brand new mags but im not sure who makes the mags

  I thought jamming was perfectly normal in the TEC. At least I have never seen one that would empty a magazine without jamming.

  I also have an AB-10 any never had a problem with jams. It shoots excellent. I use FMJ also.

  Nunn you closer to being right than wrong but I have pretty good success with the mag that came with my gun. I have another AB-10 but have never taken it out of the plastic box.
  
  I have about 6- 50 round mags and I had to start shooting 10 rounds thru it and gradually working up to 50 rounds and it cycled well after that but there is always the thought that it might jam.
  
  I would not like to depend on this gun for self defense but they are fun to shoot.

  i have plenty of other guns for defense.i just want this for plinking but its no fun to un-jam every other round. from what i've read this kg99 has not been produced since 1987 but its made by intradynamic the original tec company and was supposed to be a simple and fairly reliable piece as compared with the new versions.my thought is that with some new parts(springs, mag catch etc.)maybe i can get it to cycle ok at least.i just can not seem to find a good source of parts for this gun. anyone know if other models are interchangable? thanks again!

  Gentlemen, although we are all talking about firearms which "look" the same, most of us are actually using a pistol much different than the one tininpa owns. the Interdynamics of America pistols began life as the KG-9, an open bolt 9mm pistol with a fixed firng pin. On 19 January, 1982 the BATF issued a ruling declaring the KG-9 to be a machinegun due to its open bolt design; it was very easy to grind away the disconnector and turn the pistol into a functional machinegun. All pistols produced after that date were considered to be machineguns and subject to the National Firearms Act.
  
  In 1984 Interdynamics developed a closed bolt version of the KG-9 using a floating firing pin with a striker. Quite frankly this design was a quick fix to the problem and functioning was hit and miss...mostly miss. Getting a KG-99 to work correctly can be an exercise in frustration. In 1985 the pistol design went over to Intertec and the TEC-9 and later TEC-9DC and AB-10 pistols were developed. These had a much improved internal fire control mechanisim and functioning was vastly improved. Tininpa, you may be stuck as there is no quick fix for your pistol other than having a gunsmith look it over and try to improve it as best he can. Good luck.

  Tim in Pa;
  It sounds like you have one of two problems. 1. The extractor is bent,broken or the claw is mis shaped. Common among Tec's.
  2. the ejector tip is broken off. Also common among Tecs. I would suggest examination of these parts under magnification. Even slight defects will imprefections in these gun will prohibit proper functioning. If this gun is new take it beack to the retailer. If it was a used gun purchase, return may or maynot be possinle, depemding on the conditions of the sale. If it was "AS IS", then you will have to foot the repairs or dump the Tec. The repairs should'nt total more the $100. Sorry about that. P.S. Tec's don't function well with anything other than FMJ ammo. Lead tips cause feed problems in them.
  You're problem is in extraction/ejection, so I think the problem is as discribed above.

  all seem knowledgeable on this topic and i thank you for your help finding any gunsmith around my town that knows anything about my gun is proving harder than trying to get it to work right.but i'll hang on to it until i find a good smith,meantime i'll go buy another gun to play with,and i also learned a good lesson about buying guns off the internet anywhere besides gunbroker.com thanks again TIM
