Blackpowder Muzzleloader Shotgun Load Data ??
I'm expanding my muzzleloading interests into smoothbore blackpowder muzzleloading shotguns and am always looking for articles & sources that list various laods data, wad types and combinations, etc, etc.
I'd appreciate any web sites or reference material containing this sort of info, thanks a lot!

Sam Fadala published a book called the Black Powder loading manual that has a lot of just what you are looking for. I think Lyman was the publisher and you should be able to find a decent copy at ABES or Bookfinder.com

Thanks...actually I have that one but it's a little light on the shotgun side...99% muzzleloading rifles & pistols and I've used it for a lot of that sort of reference...am hoping to find some a little more comprehensive on smoothbores 0 -
Hodgdon Data Manual # 25 has some info, but not very much. Good luck in your quest.

It is not difficult; load powder, over-powder card, cushion wad (felt, cellotex, etc, moistened with your favorite patch lube such as "Moose Milk", diluted Murphy's oil soap or such), an equal amount of shot (volume for volume with the powder) and lastly the over-shot wad. This will get you going and from here you can play with the loads just like in M/L rifle/pistol to find one that patterns the way you want, with the shot size you want. This is a basic starting load, but should get you off to a running start. Emery

Did some good shooting at clays using 12 ga AA Winchester plastic wads
over 75gr FF black powder and 1 1/8 ounces of #6 shot followed by
a very thin over shot wad. A little lube on the wad would probably be a good idea since ramming became a little harder after a bit of shooting.0
