Savage 24J-DL Stock

Looking for a parts dealer that might have a stock for a Savage Model 24J-DL. This is an anomoly of a rifle as it doesn't fit any of the existing BB descriptions. Has nice engraving Fox/Turkey scene on receiver but the receiver has a black finish instead of satin. Stock is very nice Walnut MonteCarlo style with grip cap and white spacer butblate. Nifty press checkering patern in the stock. Left side of the wrist has linear cracks and looks like it may have been repaired once.
Where can I go to find a replacement part for this great combo without having a custom replacement made?

  You might check with Gun parts corp. The 24j-dl should use the same stock as all the 24 series Combo guns. Try some of the aftermarket stock makers. One of them will, more than likely, be able to provide ou with a replacement. Hope this helps.

  Good luck trying to find a used DL stock, they are very difficult to find. Not all DLs had the satin nickel receiver, so no issue there. But the DLs were produced in relatively fewer numbers, and the stocks are prone to breakage if they are not properly fitted (sometimes factory fitting left something to be desired) or if screws are overtightened.
  
  Wish I had better news for you. You could try the "Want Ads" board. Keep bouncing it back to the top and you might get lucky.
