Auto Adapter for Glock 17
I have seen this ad for an adapter to make a Glock 17 full auto. Something like the Glock 18. Any feedback or knowledge of this?

Uh....do a web search for either "illegal modifications" or "Shortcut to the booty-house" and they should haveall the info you need. People have done that conversion and the ones that have been caught are....let's just say being reamed for a larger caliber[}:)]

This is something that I would never, ever, never do.. Why ruin a perfectly nice piece..dated 1986. Did see a video clip from some site that was selling this. Thanks..[:)] 0 -
Someone was selling the kit or were they selling instructions? That'd take some iron cajones to be openly selling kits, you could almost hear the footsteps at the door[:D]

It was an adapter that fit into the back of the slide where the plastic slides out from the rear of the slide at the firing pin and is then inserted in it's place. 0 -

This modification can be performed by a number of firms for a price of around $250. This is legal only for Glock's owned by the police, military, or Class 3 dealers who can use the modified pistols as restricted sales samples for the fisrt two groups. An individual cannot have his Glock modified into a machine pistol and any attempt to do so would result in the penalities Joey so colorfully described!
Glock itself has always had an internal policy which retricted sales of the M18 to no one but police and militaries so there are no factory original Glock 18's which are transferable in the United States-- at least I have never heard of one-- and if one did exist it would cost a fortune! There may be a handful of modified Glock 17's converted to full auto and available on a Form 4 transfer, but these must be very rare as I've yet to encounter one.

Mark, You hit this right on the head. But, there is definitely no transferable Glock 18's or conversions out there as these guns weren't imported until after the '86 ban. The only machine pistols out there I know being transferable are a handful of Beretta's. 0 -

I think 1968 is when they banned importation of MGs for civilians... up until 86 however, you could have modified an import to mg here in the US.0 -
That is exactly what I'm saying. You could not make a Glock full auto and register it in 1986 because they weren't imported yet. Importation was banned in 1968 as you said. 0
