single shot shotgun "Texas Ranger"

Hey everone. I have a customer that e-mailed me and he has a single shot shotgun that only has three numbers in the serial and has Texas Range on the side of the barell. Anyone know what brand name that would be? Thanks, MM[8D]

Heavy is good. It if doesn't shoot you can always hit him with it.

  I got a reference says that "Texas Ranger" was a trade mark used by Monkey Ward on cheap revolvers, maybe they used it on shotguns too?

  Could be Monkey Ward, but most likely a Hardward Store gun.
  
  Check for proofmarks under the forearm. If there are proofmarks (if an "ELG") it's Belgian. Otherwise possibly Spanish.
  
  If no proofmarks, it's a cheap American....possibly Crescent or Hopkins & Allen with a hardware store or mail order house tradename.
  
  Probably not safe to shoot, best to use it as a wallhanger, and not much $$$ value.....unless it was Great Grandpa's old shotgun...and then it's priceless.
