Old H & R .22

Can anyone give me any info on an H & R Straight 8 .22. My dad had one years ago and it got stolen. i'm trying to get background on the gun and see how hard it would be to find one. I'll never replace the old one which was my grandfathers but maybe find my dad a replacement.

  i have been researching h&r firearms and have access to catalogs from
  1899 until 1985 and have never seen a reference to an h&r straight 8 .22 rimfire revolver.
  
  there were several revolvers manufactured by the iver johnson's arms & cycle works co. that use the number 8 or the word eight in their model name. target sealed 8, .22 supershot sealed eight.

  My dad swears it was a H&R double action.Bad thing is we no longer have the gun due to it was stolen to tell what it really was. Thanks for the info b.goforth.
