Please help me figure out this gun...

I believe it's a 45 cal. It is a very old revolver. I cannot find any markings on the gun to figure out the make. Well, actually there is a word above the serial number but is hard to make out; it looks like D???CY. There is another marking on the bottom of the barrel that starts with a P _ _ _?

Anyone have a clue what this is? Value? Age?

  Well the more I study these hard to read markings I think it says D.E.C. above the serial number. Anyone know what this is?

  Well I hate to keep talking to myself but I believe it's a colt "peacemaker". Anyone know much about these guns? What age it may be by the serial number?
