U.S. marked Iver Johnson Champion 12ga. shotgun

Does anyone have information/ and/or values on Iver Johnson Champion 12ga. shotguns w/ U.S. and ordnance bomb marking on the left side of the receiver? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, 5randall45

  I don't believe that any Iver Johnson shotguns were ever standard military issue.
  
  What you may have is a shotgun purchased by the military services for "Special Services" to loan out for recreational purposes.
  
  When I was stationed at the Norfolk Naval Station, Special Services had shotguns, outboard motors, and all sorts of sporting goods that the loaned out to Naval personnel.
  
  The I.J. was a pretty inexpensive single barrel shotgun, 26-32" barrel, auto ejector, plain pistol grip stock. Mfg from 1909 to 1956.
  
  It's value ranges from $75 in 80% condition to $150 in 98%.
  
  Don't know how much the ordnance mark would add to the value.

  in addition to the special services purchases some single barrel shotguns were issued to manufacturing companies doing defense work during world war 2. besides iver johnson other single barrel shotguns turnup every once in a while with ordinance dept. markings.

  The Iver Johnson Champion in question has a 30 in. blued barrel, color-cased receiver and appears to be in 95%+ condition. any additional info. would be greatly appreciated.

  Iver Johnson Champion - 10,12,16,20,24,28,32 ga. or .410 bore, also available in .44, .45, 12mm, 14mm rifle caliber, single barrel shotgun or rifle, 26-32 in. full barrel, exposed hammer, auto ejector, plain pistol grip stock. Mfg. 1909-1956.
  
  Blue Book value in 95% condition....$125.
  
  Don't know if the ordnance marks add anything to the value.
  
  Still sounds like a "Special Services" loaner shotgun to me.

  I knew that info. on this configuration Iver Johnson would be pretty slim. I wish to thank all of you for your help. Since I'm a newbie on these forums, I don't know how to bring this topic to an end. I'm also very new to computers in general, so any help or advice on the rules of the road on this site would definitely be appreciated.
