SSG 97

I have a customer who is looking for an SSG 97!
I don't know enough about the weapon other than it's a german sniper rifle.
I would like to find out about this.....
Where i could see what it looks like and where I might be able to get him one.......

  No offense Sir, but I believe there's been a breakdown in communication, somewhere? The SSG 97 is a Romanian knock-off of the Russian Dragunov Sniper Rifle, except it's internall mechanism is similar to the AK 47. It does resemble the Dragunov cosmetically.
  The Austrians have manufactured a bolt action Sniper Rifle named SSG 69, is it possible thats the one he could be interested in?

  There was an East German sniper rifle known as the SSG-82 which was chambered for the 5.45mm Soviet AK-74 cartridge. These were imported briefly during the early 1990's by Century Arms and sold in the $800 range (I think) with a DDR Zeiss 4-power scope. At the time no one was much interested in these rifles since 5.45mm ammo was nearly non existant in this country and Century had to begin offering the ammo with the rifle in a package deal. The other SSG rifles are Austrian, just as member rufe-snow mentioned.
