"our favorite" gun
[8D]A friend of mine has acquired an old 12- gauge shotgun which is labeled simply "OUR FAVORITE". We are aware that Stevens made rolling-block rifles of this name in .22 and .32 Long caliber, but the old shotgun does not say Stevens anywhere on it. Opinions please

odds are, we're talking about an old single shot break action gun with exposed hammer, right?

[8D] I believe that is correct, but I have not seen the gun. I am going by a third-party description.

it sounds like a 50 or 60 dollar vittles gun. very common. the best is not always the best. im just guessing on a history to the gun...im a little rusty on single shots. there were hundreds of single shot makers. i can dig around for you. 0 -

thats a tuff one. unless someone chimes in and knows for sure....i'll just say that there could be 100's of possibilites since many single shots were made, then sold under different brand names. i wish gmr would help out here. he'd know! lets see if he sees this thread! 0
