It works, if you just want to remove the bolt, but the $ 50.00 price is to high.

The Ruger pistols are very simple to break-down to begin with.

I have not seen it discounted. The review I saw of it in one of the gun magazines was positive. Although reassembling a Ruger is a little tricky, I don't think it is a $50 problem.

I take it that she's shooting a MKII with the walnut grips? Whatever kind of grips; don't get a set that covers the rear of the grip frame, or you'll be even longer cleaning at the range.
I have the stock thumbrest grips on mine, and since I'll never sell any of my "children"; I have modified the takedown lever in the grip to accomodate a thin lanyard-no prying/crying 'cuz it won't come apart. It takes some getting used to; holding the gun at an angle to get it back together correctly, but with practice comes familiarity and speed.
If you still wanna blow some money; FAC's latest catalog has a "Ruger .22 auto pistol speed strip kit" for only $42.49 on pg. 45.

If you know it all; you must have been listening.WEAR EAR PROTECTION!

seems to me it would be better to save your money and just practice taking it apart , its really not hard if you just do it a few times [:D]
