browning identification
I have a 9mm browning. The Writting on the side says
FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE CUERRE
HERSTAL BELGIQUE
BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE
There is a markinh above the trigger that has 2 horizontal lines with WaA140 and what appears to be a set of german wings.
Can anyone tell me exactly what I have? The gun is completely intact except it is missing the front sight. I want to replace it but I am not sure what to look for as to make, model, #,etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What would be fair market value for a used 28" vent rib invector ckoke belgium made 12 ga pump shotgun. I don't know the model but it is about 6 years old, with a shiney stock and barrel. It has engraving of a pheasant on one side and a gold trigger. It is in excellent shape no wear on the barrel and one minor scratch on the stock. 0 -
sounds like a BPS to me....without any other info, and im not asking, i'd guess around 300.00 plus or minus 50. 0 -

I agree with bobski, BPS doesn't have the resale value that an 870 does here. Nicely made, good fit up. I had one in 20 ga. but never could shoot it very well. I thought it was just me, but a couple friends tried it and had similiar problem. It would be good if you could try one first. Some guns fit some people better than others. 0 -
Rob, $250-$275 sounds about right. I have one that I do like a lot...Invector, Hunter model (Wood and Blue) It was probably a typo, but this pump is a Miroku Japan, not Belgian item. Best, Jim

Rob, I failed to mention, but you can go to www.browning.com (click North America, click Services, click date your gun) to see their "Date Your Gun" section. The serial number for a 1997 BPS 12 ga Hunter would look something like this: xxxxxNR152. 152=12 ga BPS Hunter and the NR identifies the year of manufacture (Z=1, Y=2, X=3, W=4, V=5, T=6, R=7, P=8, N=9, M=0) Best, Jim
