.22 Colibri ammo
Does anyone have any experience with this ammo? Is it safe to use in a 20 " rifle , or only in pistols ? Thanks in advance.

I've used it in both with no problems. Very quiet and pretty powerful. Now only if the neighbor's cat would get a little closer[;)] With a powderless cartridge like that it is possible to have a bullet not exit a longer barrel (i.e. rifle) I've never had a problem but if you don't hear a "pop" and you don't see a point of impact, check the bore before firing again.

I HAVE USED IT BOTH RIFLE AND HANDGUN WITH NO PROBLEMS. RIFLE WITH 24 IN BARREL AND NO PROBLEMS. HAVE USED REGULAR AND SUPER COLIBRI AND IT DOES WORK ON NEIGHBORS CATS. NOT AS LOUD AS PELLET GUN[}:)][}:)] 0 -

About 1 round in 50 doesn't clear the barrel on my remington 512 which I think is a 24". I still use them though. like CB's gone one step too far. shoot them at 25 yards and you can watch the arched trajectory.

They make 2 kinds of Colibri one for handguns and one for rifles, the red box stuff is for the longer barrels. the rainbow colored box says on the side, for use in handguns only. But I have used both in a 16" barrel with no problems.

I've fired both types through a Winchester 190 with an 18in barrel. I always check the barrel between shots, to be sure it is clear, which it always has been, so far. The ballistics are as bad as you might expect, given the low muzzle velocity, with several inches of trajectory drop in under 25 yards. But they do penetrate about 1/2 inch into the RR ties on the backstop.
I've also shot them out of the Ciener Beretta 92 conversion, with good results. The recoil is not strong enough to cycle either weapon.

I have used the rainbow colored box in both rifle and pistol. They work really well in a Taurus pump gallery rfle. The 10/22 is a pain because to get it in the chamber, you have to hold the gun upside down and feed it. I have a cheap Burgo revolver and it is a great squirrel gun with the Colibri. My Ruger Mark II pistol magazine will hold only 4 rounds because they are so short.

I use the super calibri in a bolt action rifle to dispatch feral cats trapped in a cage on my property. I live in the mountains and idiots dump cats out in the woods constantly. Head shots will kill after two or three rounds but shorts kill right now. The calibri's are about as loud as a pellet gun from the bolt action. The trajectory is only about 50 feet or so.
....I never met a gun I didn't like!0
