Ruger Single Six dilemma
I want to get a Ruger Single Six in .45 Colt, Stainless, with the simulated ivory grips & a .45 ACP conversion cylinder. It seems this combo doesn't exist straight from the factory. You can either have the grips with no cylinder or vice versa. My question is this: can you order the grips or the cylinder or both directly from Ruger?

JUST FOR THE RECORD. RUGER DOES NOT MAKE A SINGLE SIX IN 45 LONG COLT. THEY MAKE A BLACKHAWK 45 LONG COLT IN STAINLESS BUT NOT WITH A 45 ACP CYLINDER. WOOD GRIPS THEY MAKE A BLACKHAWK 45X45 BLUE. THE VAQUARO STAINLESS WITH BOTH CYLINDERS WERE MADE FOR A SRECIAL DIST BUT WITH WOOD GRIPS. THE WHITE GRIPS CAN BE ORDERED FRON. WWWLETTGRIPS.COM HPE THIS HELPS.

My mistake. I guess I was thinking of the Vaquero. Though I could've sworn the conversion cylinder was on that model.

By the way, I own a stainless Blackhawk with two cylinders, one 45LC--the other is 45ACP. Barrel length is 4-7/8. They were a special run about 10 years ago.
And, no! It's not for sale.

Rafter,
Do you like the .45 ACP cylinder or is it just a gimmick?

The ACP cylinder is the one I prefer and primarily use. It is not a gimmick.

I may just get a blued one. What's approximate retail on the blue Blackhawk? Anyone know? I think I saw one at a gun show a couple of weeks back for $350. Probably should've jumped on it, huh?

Yep, for $350 you should have jumped with both feet. I too like the .45 ACP in a sixgun. Very mild, accurate, and cheap to shoot.
